This is for those venturing or already using Leica R lens on Canon.
The list is very comprehensive and include details for different dSLR body (very nicely compiled by the arthur!): http://home.comcast.net/~john.schwarz/Leica_List.htm Have fun reading! |

If you can afford it get this:
http://www.fotodiox.com/shop/product...roducts_id=163 If not then the cheaper made in china/taiwan ones that look similar (all bronze) but cost slightly less than half the price of the above.... Avoid the India ones! And yes the 100macro APO is to be drool at cos the cheapest I've seen so far 2nd hand is US$1300 (excluding shipping/insurance) ... enough to buy 2 x EF100macro (with hoods and filters thrown in), heehee.![]() |

this is what a typical leica R lens look like:
![]() you'll see an aperture ring nex to the rear mounting and a focus ring further out.... the aperture ring is also directly coupled to the aperture blades, unlike M42 screw lens. here's a short comparison of diff 90/100mm lens in pbase: http://www.pbase.com/juergenkook/leicar_div |

eeee..... i think the leica 100APO is actually smaller than the canon 100macro as there're no motor and pcbs inside it
