Default Collared Kingfisher

Out of the many shots I took of this kingfisher, only a few turned out properly. This photo has been cropped a bit to remove the background that was "extra". The bird was on a perch opposite a hide at Sg Buloh and was quite cooperative while I took my time to setup for the shoot.

she's soo cute... ok technically, its supposed to be impossible to tell the sex of a collared unless they're side by side (where one sex appears greener than the other)

i know how difficult it is in SB, so getting a shot with an unobstructed view is great

nice, natural light too - always great to see your wild bird shots

After going so many times to Sg Buloh, I find that the best chance of getting anything worthwhile is when there is a low tide and when it is a weekday. On weekends, the hordes of visitors drives the birds to the safety of the swamp away from the noise of human traffic.

Erwinx, Just saw your shots of kf at BG too. Very nice man! Btw, I saw "storky" at last at Sg Buloh, but didnt get a good shot, quite a big fella.
