Just got myself the Lensbaby 2.0 and need advise. Played around with it but can't get the right setting. Which is the best or most convenient aperature setting (filter) do you use? And do you compensate the exposure?

It's rather a hit and miss really, with the lensbabies. Try the f8 ring first, I found this will give you a good balance of focus area and amount of blur.
For exposure, try the f16 rule first, then review with the LCD (I could never get acceptable shots with the lensbabies without first reviewing previous results). From there, I adjust the shutter speed accordingly. It is a big advantage that with digital, one can immediately see the results and correct them on the spot. I love my Lensbabies. Persist at it, and you'll be rewarded. And oh, by the way, I suggest you shoot RAW. Always give yourself all the advantages possible. :-) Here's my gallery of Lensbabies shots. http://www.cyril-jeane.smugmug.com/gallery/629963 |
