Default Singapore Zoological Gardens

these are some of the photos i took at the singapore zoological gardens yesterday.

#1

I spotted some people feeding them with curry puffs. Please don't do that as you might upset their diet.

#2

This racoon looked lonely and it's grey-white fur around the eyes seem to eccentuate the feeling.

#3

Prairie dogs are my favourite. They are so cute and cuddly. The ones at the Zoo are approachable for close up shots.

This was a lucky shot. I was standing on a wooden platform when it ran over in search of food.

#5

I found it hard to get a sharp focus on these little creatures. They were running around and were starving.

#6

Some couple got a shock when they were trying to feed it some 'mua chee'. From the tree, it jumped over and onto the platform. While they fled a distance away, I went up to take a shot. Once again, please don't feed the animals. They are well taken care of. Thank you.

Note: I find it hard to get a sharp focus on the animals a distance away. With the viewfinder extremely small, it's hard to see whether it's OOF or not. Care to share tips on how to get it sharp? Do you take multiple shots on rapid fire while adjusting the focusing ring?

I thought the 350 has a focus confirmation light? Hmm I have not tried tele photo yet but so far my eos300v will show which AF points are in focus when in MF mode so you roughly know what shot your are getting..

the lemur and iguana shots are pretty nice though.

I do see the red light popped out when it's in focus, however, when the shot was taken, it came out a little blurred while the area around the spot is sharp. it's tough to see where you might be pointing at when taking from afar via a small viewfinder.

Hmm...could you be having a front or back-focus problem? Can you try to shoot some stationary objects at about the same distance as the pic(s) with the problem and see if you can reproduce the problem?
