Default Mayday!! Mayday!! Photo lab cannot print my pics

    Dear all,

this is the first time i experience that my regular photo lab cannot print my pics.

there are only 2 changes made for this set of pics as compared with the previous print jobs- DSLR: S3Pro and Imaging s/w: CS-2.

Whenever the lab line up my batch to print, the whole machine "hanged". They managed to print abt 60 prints by printing in batch of 10.

I have a total of 220 pics and the individual file size is abt 2mb.

I have resumitted my pics to another lab for printing.

Have anyone experience this and knows the reason and willing to share?

    Rgds,

I hope I don't face the same problem--just sent a whole bunch of 25MB TIFF files for printing.

it seems that there is a memory buffer on the printing machine, perhaps the memory is insufficent to run multiple batches with large files all at the same time. the new photo lab which i went to this morning has no problem so far. they are using a newer machines.

    VBS,
Since you are using a S3 Pro, you'd be a lot better off sending to a Fuji Frontier lab. Print Fuji images on a Fuji, so far, I see more vibrant images. Moreso if your photos were well taken, all the lab needs do is density tweaking and you get gorgeous prints.

And there are now several labs offering great prices and great service, like Grace and TripleD and Aspario.

    I'm not sure if a 200+ picture,
but my experience with Zoom Photo in Greenridge Bukit Panjang, they able to take care my D2X JPEG (around 6 to 8 Mb's each) for about 50 pictures (I'm using self-service kiosk).

What you might expect is system slow, because the file is quite big.
