damn up to now I am still wondering where to shoot from.....

I suspect the Espalande will be pack with onlookers since the newspaper recommend that place as being the best place to watch. Plus I think the firework might be fired from another place like the way they did it during the NDP firework festival..maybe they still think terrorist will attack so they can not be too clear on it actual location....

if lucky, still can get some cruise ship as foreground.
After checking the maps, I found out that the distance between the Sentosa Ferry Terminal and the Mt. Faber cable car station is about 1.3Km which is way too far for picture taking even if the fireworks are probably slightly nearer at around the 1Km mark. If you add the height of the fireworks, it's going to be very far if shot from Sentosa Ferry Terminal.

For my prosumer camera Nikon Coolpix 5700, fireworks look nice only if they fired from well within 750m from where I'm taking the pictures.

I guess shooting from Sentosa Ferry Terminal is only feasible for those with DSLRs (which can maintain F/8-F/16 even when zoomed in).

Coolpix 5700 is a good cam,i treat it on par with DSLR.

After seeing your post, I went ahead to shoot at Sentosa Ferry Terminal.

I'm quite disappointed with the fireworks display at Mt. Faber when compared to the one at the Esplanade.

I've posted 4 pictures taken of the Mt. Faber fireworks here :

No. I'm only disappointed with the fireworks.

In terms of shooting location, it's feasible.

It's just that I was expecting the kind of spectacular fireworks we usually see during National Day or those at Esplanade.

    So it's not your fault.
