This is my first attempt to shoot a dragon fly so close.

Good try. Keep shooting and you'll get better. You need to get closer than that though.

Background is too messy. It's hard to find the dragonfly, perhaps a bigger aperture might help.

Hi good attempt even getting the shot of the dragonfly - remember chasing one of these around last week

You may need to get a little closer, since the character of the insect is often in the eyes - learnt this from other CS members.
