Default Epson Scanner 4490

Also interested in either 4490 or 4990, saw both the scanner at
Epson Showroom. Seems to me difference in weight is a lot, but
the staff saying scanning capabilities quite close.

But he cannot say for sure , or rather he says no ice technology
when scanning prints, only apply to negatives.

Anyone know for sure about this.

Both of them have the ice technology for prints and films( negative and slides: remember b&w negatives and KOdachrome are not supposed by ICE)

But
For 4490 has two options for ice: quality( best) and lite ( fast but have to compromise the image quality)
For 4990 has only one opion for ice: quality

4490 is 'younger' than 4990.
