Default "MACRO" on a zoom lens

    Hi,

What does it mean if we see the word "MACRO 1.3ft" on a zoom lens?

What does it mean if there is no "MACRO"?

I have 2 similiar range zoom lens, one with and one without. I would like to know what's the difference.

    Thanks.

It means thats the minimum focusing distance needed for the lens to focus, in this case 1.3ft.

Thanks. What if there is no "MACRO" function on the lens?

If it isn't a dedicated macro lens, I doubt there'll be any difference. Lenses with a "macro' or a flower icon stamped on it probably just means that it has a smaller minimum focusing distance.
