Default old lens? manual types?

Just gotten into nikon cameras... currently holding on to a FG, but i own no lens, except that i borrowed a 35-70mm "Kit Lens" from my friend.

Wondering what kind of lens is available? coz there seems to have lots of Series >< and i am confused.

And also, i am looking forward to get a 50mm lens. Any kind soul out there got recommendations along with price guides?

if you are thinking of possibly getting a d50 or d70s in future, you could get the af 50mm f/1.8 or af 50mm f/1.4. autofocus lenses can work with manual bodies like the fg, as well as dslrs.

if you're sticking with manual-focus cameras, you can get the 50mm f/1.4 ais. (if you get the d200, you can still get metering with it.)
