the linhof 617 kit is about 13k Sin
u can ask cathay photo or Pro photo about it. a cheaper alternative is to use a 617 back on a 4x5 view cam. |

go ebay and key in "6x17" in the search
there are now many 6x17 camera made in china/hkg that seems to sell for a fraction of the Fuji and Linhof stuff |

yes,u can get a full 6x17 with most 90mm lens on a 4x5cam
the china made 6x17 back can be used with lens up to 150mm,vignetting shows up only on 210mm as claimed. |

This image was taken with a 6x17 back on the Graflex 4x5 view cam. Lens was Rodenstock Grandagon 90mm f4.5 . Taken in October/November 2005.

you mentioned abt the lenses usage on the china made 617 camera. Any particular brand of lenses? Is Linhof lenses compatible with the china made cam? I'm pretty nuts in pano cameras and wanted to do some interesting shots if I can afford to own one. ![]() |

Hey martin,
the beauty of LF lenses are compatibility for all brands of camera! u just need to fit them on the respective lensboard of the camera. But.. the china made 617 back is only a film back,u need to fit them on a 4x5 camera to use them.. |
