Calling out to 350D owners... do you guys hear sort of a rattling sound like those made by loose parts when you try to shake your camera body? Is this normal?

It's the orientation sensor. Tells the camera whether you're shooting vertically or horizontally. It can't be anything loose unless your camera's not working right.
And stop shaking your camera! Its not a baby rattle! Last edited by solarii; 9th December 2005 at 02:36 PM. |

Are you using the vertical grip? If so, did you make sure your battery cover that you detach from your camera is slot in tight?

It's the metal plates holding the bulit-in flash mechanism together that made the noise. Nothing to be worried about.

I second what Solarii mentioned. It's the orientation sensor...absolutely nothing to worry about. There should be something said in the manual somewhere about this phenomenon.
Just don't shake the camera around too much. |
