anyone not buying 55-200 lens with the D50kit?

got the nikon D50 in oct and miss this promotion. if anyone wanted to buy the D50 but not interested in the above lens selling at $199, do let me know

Ask for the APO serie one: 70-300mm APO MACRO DG. Better than non APO one.

Good lens for the price!

Longer tele lens, 300mm compare to 200mm.

Got extra Macro mode function (1:2). Not true macro, but it help in many situations, especially the min distance from lens to object is 95cm (Macro mode).

But heavier than Nikon I think.

Both lens can only get following ratio (according to Nikon Website):
50-200mm ==> max reproduction ratio 1:3.5.
D50 kit lens (18-55mm) ==> max reproduction ratio 1:3.2.

Macro usually is 1:1 or 1:2.

I'll poisoning you more with Nikkor 18-200mm f/4-5.6 VR2 . Coming soon!

This all in one lens good for light and easy photography. For wedding photography too...

Don't worry. Buy Sigma 70-300mm first, afterthat eat grass (not poisonous one) to buy Nikkor 18-200mm VR2.

No.... Don't sell Sigma. It is good lens for the price! Use it for longer distance Macro. Sell it only if you have no more space on your DryCab (do you have DryCab, don't you) or you are really need money.

Just my 2 cents .

Buy DryCab before it's too late. Better safe than sorry. Fungus is very easy to grow in here. Very difficult to cure the fungus. Very bad fungus, than your lens become expensive paper weight.

DigiCab range is quite cheap. 30L is only $99. Better still, watch for B&S forums. 2nd can go low for $50.
