got the nikon D50 in oct and miss this promotion. if anyone wanted to buy the D50 but not interested in the above lens selling at $199, do let me know ![]() |

Good lens for the price! Longer tele lens, 300mm compare to 200mm. Got extra Macro mode function (1:2). Not true macro, but it help in many situations, especially the min distance from lens to object is 95cm (Macro mode). But heavier than Nikon I think. Regards, Arto. |

sorry to intrude ur thread, but would just like to know if the 55-200mm lens be able to take macro shots?how about the kit lens of D50?

Buy another D50 and then you can purchase the 55-200 at $199. MTL!

50-200mm ==> max reproduction ratio 1:3.5. D50 kit lens (18-55mm) ==> max reproduction ratio 1:3.2. Macro usually is 1:1 or 1:2. Regards, Arto. |

DigiCab range is quite cheap. 30L is only $99. Better still, watch for B&S forums. 2nd can go low for $50. Regards, Arto. |
