Default Going to Buy D50

Hi People,

Have been browsing this website for about two days now and already feel very much part of the crowd. I have decided to buy Nikon D50 plus the 55-200 MM lens. I can be considered as somebody a beginner but very enthusiastic to learn more about photography.

This a great place with great people.....

See ya people.....

Hi sharf,

Congrats to your decision on the D50. A great beginner DSLR. With both the kit lens 18-55 & 55-200 lens, it would give you sufficient coverage from wide to telephot photography to practise your skills. Do remember to go out more often with your D50 to take more photos!!!

Welcome to the club and do let us know when you have bought the D50 and ask any questions you need to find out more...

Wow, I'm very tempted to get a D50 too and to learn more advanced photography. However, for over a thousand dollars, it's going to take me a long time to consider before upgrading from a compact to a DSLR since that's going to be one of the most expensive thing I might buy.

Also, how much photography knowledge shd one accquire before actually touching a DSLR? I've gone through quite some books on photography but still can't really take very nice pics on my compact.

I took a lot of time to decide on my D50 but I am happy that I have made this decision... The only sad point though is I paid SGD 1330 while I could have got this for 1288. This made me a bit sad. Otherwise, I dont think I can sleep tonight

it means READ THE FREAKING MANUAL. Quite commonly used on people who wants to be spoonfed with answers. Dun take it to heart, he is kidding around. But it is a solid piece of advice tho.

RTFM==> Read The Friendly Manual.
Or sometimes is RTMF ==> Read The Manual First.

Thanks TMC!

Be happy!
