Arrow Alternatives to Nikon Scan

Are there any alternative to Nikon Scan? Currently using 4.02. Kinda unstable on my Windows XP Pro....

i solved mine with an all-intel sys, no crash or hang after, stability is very solid. before that was using AMD AthlonXP sys & can't scan the whole 6 frames in one go.

hope urs is the same as mine. AMD is faster but Intel still has an edge when it comes to hardware compatibilities.

Check out Vuescan and see if it's suitable.

Using a coolscan III with VueScan. However, the driver is not compatible with Windows XP. Have to setup a dual-boot in my machine to boot into Windows 2000 to use the coolscan. Coolscan IV or newer should be ok with Windows XP.

Sigh!!! Nikon Scan 4.02 just kept shutting down by itself in Winxp pro... Good hardware but lousy software...

Thanks guys, I will go try out vuescan and sliverfast
