I dunno why but seems like all the night shots that I take in cloudy white balance (cloudy = neutral???) seems to take on a very serious orange cast.
![]() ![]() ![]() What WB should I use for night shots? I've seen a lot of post by others using the same subject (buildings around the esplanade), either digital or film, doesn't seem to have this colour cast problem. Even my previous S30 doesn't have this colour cast problem. ![]() I hate to say this but it seems that S602 has some really problematic WB issues? (WB seems a bit inconsistent with flash photography as well.) Anybody can help?? ![]() |

Have u tried setting white balance to incandescent? This will reduce the orange effect due to the streetlights.

Hi guys,
was wondering under what conditions did u all set the custom wb?? I trying using a piece of A4 white paper.....under normal white lights n ended up with red cast in my pics... Was wondering how to make it that my pics turn out that it looks as though its the actual colours captured? Thx. |

Revo, forgive me for asking, did you set the custom white balance with the white paper at the place you shoot?

You should use that only when you are taking photos under ambient light with a certain colour cast. Using the a white/grey card to set a custom white balance under those conditions will tell the camera to subtract the colour recorded on the white/grey card from the overall picture to remove the cast. This is also used when you are using external flash to remove the colour from the flashlight. However, for night shot of objects far away....this is usually not needed. You might want to try the pre-defined incandescant settings instead. Better yet, post a shot here to better explain the situation. ![]() |
