Just bought a small little flash to go with my F11. But when I switched to manual mode I could not control BOTH the Aperture and Shutter speed at the same time.
The point was to set the aperture to F4 where quality would be good and increase the shutter speed by 2 stops to compensate for the flash. But I found out that in the manual mode u cant really do that as Both the Aperture and Shutter speed features become automated. But u can adjust other stuff like Exposure compensation in auto. But even when I decrease exposure compensation by 2 stops, the speed does not increase and the aperture does not increase either! Can anyone tell me a solution to use the F11 in Full Manual mode? Thanks |

It's definitely not a fully manual DC.
Somehow, when taking indoors/night portrait shots, I notice that the best result is from the Night Mode with Slow Flash at ISO 400. Something I don't understand is that, with Night Mode at a certain Aperture/Shutter Speed/ISO, the results are way better than AP/SP with same settings and flash mode. |

It just allows you to choose between aperture or the shutter in manual mode? Then it wouldn't make any difference from Ap or Sp right?

I'm pretty sure with night mode (as what Michhy said) the in camera processing has adjusted the white balance. Try AP or SP with different white balances (can u do that?), then maybe u can get the desired result u want.
Quite sad. Dont have much time to play with my F11 as working long hours these few weeks! Sigh! |
