1 GB SanDisk Extreme III

Anybody know where can i get the SanDisk Extreme III ? I usually only managed to find the Ultra II in shops.

Also, how much does it cost?

I think u should try Sim Lim or Funan.

erizai has provided a price for u to compare with ... So, should not be difficult to find at either of these places.

Neighbourhood shops, excluding MS Color, of course, may not stock these "high end" CF cards as their turnover is relatively lower ...

Yupz, would be nice to know where it is selling @ $139.
Lexar 80x is already selling @ $125 or so. (Quoted at a camera shop in shaw towers lvl2)

would like to do does the higher speed of CF/SD contribute to faster read/write speed?
i mean wun it be limited by the hardware of the camera itself?
imho i think having is ultra 2 is more than enough..

Yes, it is limited by the camera also. Faster cameras like the Canon 1D Mark II N can write faster than the 300D. Extreme III is only slightly faster than the Ultra II, but it can be used in more extreme temperatures. If you're using it for normal shootings, the Ultra II will do fine

Will be interested in exploring the Kingston Ultimate series of cards. Rate at 100x or 120x, can't remember. But seems to find only SD format. Any idea where to get the CF ones?

The CF version rated at 100x is just out only, maybe locally not selling yet...

The SD version is going at 120+ I think. Would expect the CF version to be about there.

So for a E-500 shooting raw, should i get the lexar 80x or the sandisk ultra II ? Since the extreme 3 is an overkill.
