Just had our company D&D 2 weeks ago, the event photographer was using the Fuji S2 Pro with Nikon 18-70mm F3.5-4.5 lens and Nikon flash throughout the evening. After getting the CD and photos from the photographer, I was really impressed with the nice color and well expossure of the pictures taken.

And that's also my current and most regular set-up. Glad that there are people out there who can see the merits of a good photographer, coupled with budget equipment of the right type, can still produce very respectable images. And certainly glad to hear someone praising the underdog Fuji.

Sold off my first S2 and then bought it again after a year as it rendered very good color especially for portraits. Also acquired the Nk 18-70 which paired very well with the S2. Am using it for people shots whereas use the D2X for events.
This set is for keep! |

Depends on the event, but for most company function etc you can't go wrong with this combo.
Covers 27 - 105 range [135] it is a true street sweeper lens and when paired with S2 Pro, the next you can wish for is a box with iTTL and Fuji sensor + 17-55 DX glass + a speedlight with Gary Fong sphere attached ![]() |

I am currently using Nikon D70, Nikon 24-120VR, Sigma 18-50 F2.8 and SB800. I am looking out for a second hand S2 Pro, if someone is selling please PM me.
Thanks. |

I lok upon S2 pro as 1 of the best jpg out of camera .. but the down thing is the using of 2 battery source.. it really kills to change battery that often..how does the rest of you deal with this .. ??

for D70 user to change to S2pro,i would find it takes sometime to get use to the size cause it's bigger than D70.
Otherwise, very good out of camera pics, very saturated. Almost no PS needed for my previous fuji cam.

a pair of CR123 can last u for around 600+ shots (use together with rechargeable AAs). recently, i used Panasonic CR123 and they lasted more than 600+shots(flash and non-flash).

not so sure for others ..but i definitely see a difference in jpegs taken from my 18-70 vs tamron 28-75 on a D70. (i.e. the 28-75 renders better colour and sharpness) though I have not done any scientific tests. Perhaps a S2 pro will reduce the difference? But of course the 28-75 range is not as versatile due to the crop factor. If I were paying considerable amt of money for event or for my wedding, I would expect the photog's equipment to be good i.e. 17-55 on a nikon mt body. Skill is one thing, but the 18-70 will not be able to produce some type of shots in a event, such as pure ambient light without flash.
