Thread: The Hand

    Default The Hand

This was inspired by something I saw here a long time ago.
I can't even remember who was it that took those shots.
I can only acknowledge that these came from there

only the last one works. the rest you need to use smaller aperture.

I know. sadly handholding at f22 is near impossible with a dslr, esp with 1 hand
I think a PnS would work better.

Ironically, the night shots were already at f22 and that was the max DOF I could get.
To do any better would probably need a MF or LF camera at f64?

the last one's nice.. if there were some water in your right hand, that would be the best.. the finishing touch.. but still very creative none-the-less..

I believed that you are aiming at the traffic & set the f/22 from that point onward? Do aim at your lens nearest possible focusing distance first than set to f/22 & check how's the pic outcome next time round. Anyway, even at the sharpest focus, if your hand move just a little here or there, pics that shows your hand will still be blur due to low shutter which I believe is no more than 1/20 sec.
Just keep experimenting dude & you will know how far you can go.... Good luck man!

Mistake there. It wasn't f22 because I remember that at f22, the exposure was roughly near 10s even at iso3200, so I was making do with shutter priority, so it was probably nearer 1/30, 1/40 or so.

Might work if there was a traffic jam in daylight

Haha even if the shots didn't come out perfect I'll still give you an A for creativity.

Altough the concept isn't new, the ideas are very interesting. Well done!

Thanks one and all for the comments.
Don't really check on the state of my picture thread much
just like to put them out there

anyway, I think if I can get my hand on a PnS or even a camera phone, some of the pics might turn out better given the larger DOF on those. don't think night shots would work as well

Oh well. new camera phone should be coming soon. if only I could find the time to play with it

I think the last one if you put your open mouth like drinking the water, and use PS to do some editing, it would be surreal!
