Have u read the in-depth dpreview on the Olympus u referred us too??
I did read the dpreview on the Olympus 800 before I bought my F11. After reading it, I was quite disappointed ... So much that I didn't even bother to go down and take a look at the actual camera at any shops. What with the poor in-camera processing done on the pics (noise is a big issue to me), slow writing to xD card etc ... So, I didn't consider the 800 at all after reading the review ...

But they forgot the fact that this is on different LCD .. provided photo is taken and compared on the same PC then i dare to say Olumpus 800 has better photo at lowly dim area. F11 does have a inferior LCD at 132k pixel only compare to most new camera spotting 232k. I believe Olympus 800 is 232k LCD and it's very clear. Well seem like many shops are promoting Olympus 800 make me even more skeptical about it. But the free gifts throw in by Olympus is really great. Dry cabinet .. 512mb xd ..etc.Basically i don't like it because : Dpreview of it is not fantastic. It's much bigger and thicker than F11. It's Made in China ... F10/F11 is definitely in it's class when it come to high ISO performance. Last edited by spinex; 1st December 2005 at 03:22 PM. |

Well, il say perhaps it does have its pros and cons and depends on individual preferences and liking. It may also boil down to what brands u may like as well? For me, if I were to get one, it would be an olympus cam cuz of its optics and colours. |
