Default Taj Mahal

A long drive (one way about 4.5hrs excluding meals) from Dehli to reach Agra, where Taj Mahal is located.

The government banned petrol cars near Taj Mahal which may cause pollution to Taj. So need to get off the petrol car & get onto an electric "Taxi" to go to Taj Mahal's enterance.

Electric Taxi

Just entered one of the 4 gates leading to Taj Mahal.

Notice the row of small white domes on top? 11 domes in front & another 11 behind. It represents the 22 years it took to build Taj Mahal.

The 4 such towers of the Taj Mahal is slightly tilted outwards.
1. To look like a crown - Taj Mahal is Crown Palace
2. So if the towers fall over, they will fall outwards, hence not destroying the main palace.

The palace is decorated with semi precious stones & beautiful carvings

Visitors can enter the Taj Mahal after removing shoes or wearing shoe covers. Inside you will see the replicas of the tomb of the king & queen. The actual tombs are located directly underground.

Not sure what is this building
