my first try at IR ... many thanks to catchlights for lending the filter

IR effect not necessary to produce the following, but the preset WB for IR did create a different mood altogether ...

Good try. But IR is still better for landscape, when close-up, looks like normal B/W image.

Also, try the channel swap, it'll give you back your blue sky and make your tree whitish.

yup, that's why i say IR not necessary for #3 and #4

no blue sky when i was out shooting, got lightning only but don't dare to take so no matter how i swop still no blue sky

YQ.....you have outdone yourself on this one.
#1 takes the cake.
To me it depicts a picture of desolation and mysticism.

hey BC, thanks, was hoping for better light and weather, but had to make do with the flat, cloudy afternoon ... guess that kind of translated into the mood as well
