wow... the photos are great!!!

I just bought the F11 and as a newbie in the field of digital photography, I find it very difficult trying to get the focus i want.... I noe that it is a very good camera... sigh... i am just too lousy...

What do i need to do if there are 2 people in the photo and I want to focus on both of them? if i focus in the centre both of them will be out of focus, if i focus on one of them(using the AF/AE Lock), the other person will be out of focus....

please advise.... thanks

Read the manual. It's taught in it.

If the 2 persons are at same distance from the camera, the other person will not be out of focus at all. It's unless one is much nearer to the camera, then the problem you described will be logical.

not really fantastic doh.. when the photo is clicked to it's full size, the picture looks blurry and the details are not that sharp.

Nice pictures!!

Question: When i took some video shots (at 640) and downloaded them onto my computer, the video shots were jerky (so was the sound). Do you have this experience? Thanks.

that is probably due to the high amount of processing to make the images noisefree, but at the expense of detail.

Most likely it is because of the PC. Either the harddisk slow, or the PC not powerfull enough to play it smoothly. I have a few PC in the office, same thing happen when play on slow harddisk or slow PC. When I play the same file at home (P4 2.4 with 7200 rpm HD), no problem, the display and sound are smooth.

What sort of jerky? Could it be because of you not holding the camera steadily enough when shooting the video? If your hand jerks while taking the video the sound will not be seamless also because of the extra movements in the air.

Thanks for sharing.

I am really impressed by the image quality even at high ISO. Have been thinking about getting a P&S and this is really tempting.

Nice colours. Think Fuji really shines when it comes to Colour and Low noise image . But I think the photos are not sharp enough. Is it the camera problem or is it the focusing techniques. Anyway I tried the F11 at the fair think the settings are not really user friendly, is it so?

The AWB is also very good compared to other P&S compacts . Battery life also It really set a high benchmark for other compacts to follow.

Just brought a fren to get the F11 from Bally Photo.

The lower the ISO, the sharper the result. It does compromise sharpness for low noise to some extend. The sharpness degradation starting become obvious from ISO 400 onwards. It is true that at ISO 100 or lower, my father iXus 700 pics looks sharper, and of course with more sharpening halo as well. I have G2, iXus-i, and S1-IS as well, so more less I know how Canon pics looks like.

But what I do notice, that F11 pics has a characteristic of film like grain. somehow at low ISO it looks a bit more grainy than iXus at the same ISO, eyes, lips, hair, doesn't look as smooth and the color somehow not as 'dense' as the iXus pic. But since the grain is monochrome, it looks natural, but make the pic looks soft. For pic with a lot of detail, it is not obvious, but for face close up it is pretty obvious.

At ISO 200 it is about the same quality as iXus 700, but ISO 400 F11 win because of the monochrome noise.

Anyway, I like the auto WB, it is excellent (more than very good ), and also the monochrome noise. Don't forget, it is much faster than any compacts I have

Overall, I'm very happy with it
