Harvey Norman is the only store selling Nikon, Canon, Fuji, etc. cameras,... Sony, Panasonic have their own separate booths. |

I think the trouble is that it feels so much like a dSLR: The handling, the functions, the twist-barrel zoom and Manual focus ring. Heh so my deduction is that someone who has used a S9500 will soon find that urge to make that step up to a dSLR, especially if he/she can afford it (with lens collection etc).
That being said, if u wanna stick below $1k and prefer hassle-free fixed lens cams, the s9500 is a good bet ![]() S5600 is a nice alternative. Probably just a matter whether u can do without some of the s9500 advantages like the twist zoom, CF card compatibility, extra megapixels etc.. There's a S5600 currently for sale in B&S http://forums.clubsnap.org/showthrea...ighlight=s5600 |

- $400 difference - 4mp difference - swivel LCD - manual lense barrel focus/zoom - F2.8 (as opposed to F3.2) - hotshoe for flash |

The S9500 have nice manual zoom in movie mode, tilting LCD, 28-300mm. These are features the DSLR cannot offer. For the moment, I can do without this. Reason why I didn't buy DSLR last time because I thought it will be expensive. Well, it is EXPENSIVE. Expect Fuji to further improve their prosumer camera, with IS, better CCD, etc. Maybe you'll see a Fuji-Sony or Sony-Fuji brand within five years. Btw, I still have my two year old Fuji S5000. It went to Europe with me last year and took great pictures. Last edited by runes; 7th December 2005 at 11:15 AM. |
