Climbing the Human Spirit - An Everest Journey Exhibition

Come on an amazing visual journey as Stefen takes you into the heart of mountaineering and to the top of the world.

Initiated three years ago, the NUS Centennial Everest Team underwent intensive training in Singapore as well as through seven overseas expeditions before embarking on Mount Everest in Spring 2005.

During this adventure, Stefen and his team mates displayed tenacity and courage, suffered set-backs and faced possible death, underwent self-discovery and cultural immersion.

These photographs encapsulate the essence of an experience that changed their lives.

    About the photographer

Stefen Chow, born 1980, started extreme photography four years ago when he started climbing in the Himalayas. He finds joy and satisfaction in juggling the risks of mountaineering and the capturing of the emotion of the moment.

Stefen's works have since been displayed in publications and closed exhibitions. They have also been marketed overseas.

Besides being a photographer, Stefen is also a motivational speaker for corporations and educational organizations.

This is Stefen's first solo public exhibition.
