    Default Storing Lenses

Hello all, I've heard from another more experienced photographer that we should store lenses vertically and not horizontally as when you store it horizontally, the lubricants from the focus ring and zoom ring will flow onto the lens elements and cause the image to go to crap..is this true??

when you go to the shops, does the shop store the boxes vertically or horizontally?
look inside the box... does the packaging look like it is supposed to be placed horizontally or vertically?

Is there any documentation proof on this? I sure would like to read it. If what you say is true then storing it vertically would make the lubricants flow to the bottom or top of the lens (depends on how you store it)?

I think for convenience's sake, most of my lenses are placed vertically in the dry cabinet, apart from the one mounted onto my cam and the 70-200.
If you understand my works, it's photography. If you don't, it's art.
