Default Airliners - first try

Went to look for eagles today - no luck but saw plenty of
metal birds .. decided to train my 400 MMs on them.
I used to watch airliners by sitting on the roof when they
were taking off from Paya Lebar long ago.

I mess around with ultralight flying now and then..

Is there a local Aircraft photo group?

Allan

Hi
A 400 MM or 500 MM lens gives the impression that something is at
'eye level' be it an animal or an object.

Allan

MM as in millimetre (usually mm)? Or is it a special lens? Thanks!

Cool! I didn't know that, so you were saying that you shot this from ground level?

Hoo... like that must try hor Drudkh! My 100-400mm should suffice... I guess it has to do with the compression of DOF for telephotos...

Great shots ! I love planes and would love to shoot them. However, nowadays with all the security, I feel insecure taking my camera to the fence of changi airport - feel that I may get arrested the moment I take out my camera. I am sure I am not far wrong.

I use to go to the end of changi villlage road - but now that area is also block hiya

Where did you shoot these fantastic shots? Any good areas to recommend.

Hmmm..I'm sure a bazooka is easily distinguishable from a big white lens ....security is not really that laxed...its just that the police were not there at that time.they cant be everywhere at the same time.I'm sure that if they happened to pass by, he would have been stopped....not to mention identity being recorded....I know a few spotters who have kena this kinda thing before so pls think twice before goin to the sensitive locations
