Does anyone know where one can get underwater housing for Minolta SLR/dSLR suitable for shooting whilst scuba diving?

Hi Jack, I think you might need to custom make the housing.

http://www.digideep.com/english/digi...ynax7D-/23/853 Unfortunately, the site does not list one for the Dynax 5 or 5D. Actually, I wd prefer an Ikelite as I have more confidence in them having used their u/w lights in the past. However, I have lost touch with their agent after they closed the shop when their boss passed away. Maybe I have to do what Drudkh suggest and get one custom made or go get a 7D. |

Try 10Bar, a company based in HK that customises underwater housing for all kinds of camera.

For USD750, it might be ok for some if they are serious enough. But on a closer look, don't you see that every brand does have SLR n DSLR model? DSLR model costs ard USD 1200 and I think if you getting the housing for KM, I don't think that your D7D (maybe D5D can) will fix into that.
If you really want to take underwater photo. Get a normal digital camera with housing. Don't risk the life of your DSLR/SLR ![]()

Thanks, guys for the replies.
I missed diving and was thinking of incorporating this new hobby with it when I have the time to travel to dive sites and decide to resume actively. Just tried to shortcut searching and get a jumpstart if any Minolta users who do u/w photograpy could help. leeshock, Nik-enduser: Tks for the tips. TME - the URL for digideep actually leads directly to the housings for the 7D but it lack detailed information. BBTM - I still have my Sea & Sea u/w PnS which used 110 film. I believe it was the 1st camera Sea and Sea made. I did not go the Nikonos way because I needed to pursue something else which needed to be done whilst my reflexes were still fast enough. So yes, I wd be serious enough. Last edited by AncientMariner; 21st November 2005 at 10:45 PM. |
