Default 5D Problems

anybody have had any problems with thier D5D?
with mine:

- if not used for a few days then turned on > press shutter > err occurs & this happened many times now. must turn off then on again.
- if continously shooting many pictures it will suddenly hang

though minor problems it gets annoying at times

Hiee Duron..

The CF card may be the faulty one....it may be awrite speed issue. Try another faster card
if you happen to have one......

i didnt encounter the first problem.

for second "problem", how many did you take before it "hang", i am using the bundled kingston card and will "hang" if i continuously (didnt remember how many though), this is something to do with the clearing of the buffer to card, i heard.

The 2nd issue isn't a "problem" per se ... it happened when your 5D memory buffer was full and could not accommodate another shot---it was busily transferring the images to your CF card---the red LED should be lit as well showing memory card activity.

I used a RiData Gold Pro II 80X CF card in my 7D and I get about 15 continuous shots (Large, extra-fine jpegs) before the 7D slows down in taking the next shot. How many shots did you shoot before it "hung"?

- it hangs totally no response as in nothing, just like a PC that hangs

so the only way was to get to respond is to re-start it. i know about the buffer being full & that you cant take any more shots but this 5d i have just doesnt respond....

i guess a visit to the SC is the only solution
