I bought my 190ProB plus a 488RCO ballhead for $265 from AP at Sim Lim... the 488 series is a higher end balhead than the 468 series I think... can't remember the specifics now but the tripod cost more than the ballhead... my bill didn't give the breakdown. The ballhead can take up to 8kg. Comes with a ballhead lock plus a horizontal pan lock with scale markings. Also comes with 2 bubble levels. Comes also with a fancy quick release plate. It's a pretty heavy ballhead but it's built to last. |

Choose a lighter ballhead it's much cheaper. The 486RC2 was much much cheaper than my 488RCO but I wanted the bubble levels... |

Hi TME, I think you mistaken 468 series with 486 series... 468 series is the PROBALL series, meaning high-end Manfrotto ball head. 468RC2 has a friction control... which is very nice feature when you are using different lenses, you can adjust the friction so that when you mount your combo (body+lens), it will stays on... but you can still move it... it is invaluable... similar to the Markins Ball head. Markins ballhead is much more expensive, but its precision and ease to use really make a different. Hart |

http://www.manfrotto.com/Jahia/cache...?livid=liv2212 It's a typo... anyway the Manfrotto website like dun have 468 also... it's not listed. |

What do you intend to use it for? If you are after heavy duty video or studio type head, 410 will be great. But for ease of use and quick action, ball head is the best. That's of course represent my own opinion... Hart |
