Im thinking of gettin a bayonet 1 macro lens so wun go give up on my precious rolleiflex.

I actually thought of selling it when i get my DSLR!!! haha...

So yeah, does anyone knows where to get it as well and how much it would cost?

Hi,

The Rolleiflex TLRs has an accessory known as the Rolleinars for close up work. There is Rolleinar 1,2, & 3 which is diffferent magnification for the Bay 1,2 or 3 mounts.

Basically it comes in 2 filters for each set of Rolleinar sets. You have to mount the correct lens on to each viewing and taking lens and watch for the red dot for orientation as there is parallax correction.

Prices? Locally you can try TCW or Ron's. Not cheap though. I got mine off ebay. maybe expect to pay in the region of $100.

Rolleinar provide very good parallax correction. The #3 brings you close to 1:1 .... difficult to find locally, I got mine from ebay several years back...

There is a way to go around without Rolleinar doing macro work, even with a Seagull.

Goto SengCheong photo (located opposite Nanyang academy) and buy two Hoya +3 or +2 close up. I bought the one for Seagull (think is 37mm) and +3 46mm for the Rolleiflex 2.8F

You can get adaptor for 46 - > Rolleiflex from Lucky Chinatown Mr. Wong

What I do is mount the camera on a tripod. Do markings on the stem which is equi-distance of the top/bottom lenses of the TLR. Focus using the top lens. then elevate or lower the TLR for the same distance. Then shoot. This will get rid of the parallex problem. Get a tripod which you and wind up.down, easier to work with.

This work very well I took a lot of orchird flowers in botanical garden.

If you need the Rolleinar, I have one you can have a look....

Greetings Jonathan!

I use Seagull TLR and got a pair of close-up filter lenses from a Chinese website and dun think they are real close-up enuff for me. Think it's like +1 only. BTW they are all 34mm filter size and FYI all Seagull TLRs use 34mm filter sizes. I've checked with Ruby Photo and Cathay Photo on HOYA brand, they told me it's pretty hard to get such 34mm filters these days. Have to pre-order it and they are costly.

So can I get 34mm size close-up filters from Seng Cheong Photo? You mentioned it's opposite NAFA, so is it opp the new or old campus? Do you have their store contact numbers? How much did u get yr +3 close-up diopter filters? I appreciate if you can kindly PM me on the above details. Thank you very much.

Sheng Cheong is the main distributor of Hoya and Seagull, I have not been there for a while already. Forget about Cathay/Ruby they wont take up the trouble for the small profits. Goto Sheng Cheong direct. Just opposite this Nanyang academy they are on the thrid floor. You can find their number from a big advert in Yello Pages Singapore. They sell all sorts of filters. For Hoya 34mm (*thanks for reminder ) they have +1 +2 +3 and you can stack to get the magnification. I use a +2 for flowers shot. If you want to shoot insects then use a SLR + 90mm Tamron would be better ha ha....

Thank you so much Jonathan!

Will check Sheng Cheong out asap. Can't wait to get those filter lenses to shoot more close-up florals. I dun shoot insects.

As you have suggested on the stacking of +1, +2 & +3, will vignettes be formed? Will there be any circular lens blur efx (center clear) on the image?
