Default Optimizing the Photoshop CS2 for Mac

Hi guys, anyone knows how to optimize the Photoshop CS2 performance?

    Currently, I have

    1.5 GB ram
an ext HDD which is partitioned into 2 parts of about 100 GB each
and one more Laptop HDD worth about 40 GB.

how would u configure the scratch disk or what cache etc for better performance?

    Thanks in advance.

Have the 1st and 2nd scratch disk on different harddisk, not different partitions.
Have the 1st scratch disk on the harddisk with the faster RPM.

You can manually allocate the ram for photoshop at the preferences.

    For cache level......
Suppose you start the image at 100%, if you frequently zoom down once or up once to the next zoom (67%/125%), set the cache at level 2. One cache level for one zoom level.
