Does the D2X ship with a strap that says D2X, or is this an add-on? In the first case, the guy may simply not bother to spend money on a strap if he already has one that works...

    I think he's proud to be a Nikonian/own a D2x and a Domke.
As for showing off, I bet there are lots of people who like to show off their wares as well.
I have no problems with that.
Just don't show me your crappy shots taken with your expensive equipment.

The D2X ships with a very pretty yellow and black wide strap. It's so nice I use mine instead of my usual nondesript straps.

    Well.......
    1) Nikon D2X strap, coz no money to buy OpTech Pro strap.
    2) Domke bag coz, given his age, he owns it when he was still using film. Tough bags, Domkes are.
    3) Browsing books coz the heat and humidity of afternoon shooting is getting to him.
    4) This post coz IF you own a D2X you would be having an OpTech Pro strap and a Lowepro bag and would not browse books while carrying this heavy load. Hence, anyone else who does 1,2,3 must be a show-off

Just kidding ah.... anyway, do not judge a book by the cover, and do not judge a photographer by the gear (both hi end or lo end). LOL

How do you know his bag was light? For all you know it might have contained half a dozen lenses and assorted filters, flash units etc.

Also for all we or you know the guy may have been taking shots right before going in to the bookstore.

Finally, what's his age got to do with the price of wheatgerm on the Siberian gold market?

No offense intended but it sounds like you're the one with the problem.

wahh!!! what are u trying to do?? u seem so pissed with everyone and everything!!
first, old-man (looking at books not even bothering you), say he is a fool.
next, you post this here wanting people to comment about this incident, then when ppl reply, u make pretty rude comments
you also go on by saying kopitiam is a place with "pointless questions"

WTF is wrong with u man....depression or madness??
kopitiam is a place for non-photography talk, but could be slightly related, like people's threads on what to do when going to a particular countries overseas...etc.
