Hi all need some help here,
Just bought it today, find that this sigma 150mm Manual Focus Ring to be quite rough when turning it, just can feel the inner Gear is turning. I own the 50-500mm / "ex" 60mm nikon micro / also compare it with my canon 17-40mm L and theirs focusing ring is way smoother . Anyone with is lens please help to advise, is it due to NEW and need some use so the turning will be much smoother later on? call the shop & was told due to NEW! is anyone experience this same isue? Thank U first. ![]() |

i think ur lens is like my newly bought sigma 24-70, after u switch from auto to manual focus through the slider switch thing, u still need to yank the whole focusing ring up or down.
for mine, first i switch the slider to MF, then slide the whole focusing ring up until the MF word is seen. this is actually done so that people have a less likely chance from accidentally changing AF to MF. hopefully this works for u. your lens may be like regular lenses where there is no two-step to change from AF-MF....then....i think u better send ur lens to service centre and ask them to have a look also, i don't think it is because it is a new lens...my 24-70 and other lenses when i bought brand-new only have stiff zoom ring, but focusing ring (i think) usually comes very smooth when u buy it, not like zoom ring where it needs to wear-down a bit.
