Anyone know how to make the LCD preview screen on the 7D more accurate? The color and contrast isn't very good. The ones on Canon are nice...
Any settings, cracks, firmware? or can was send it back to KM to get it changed? |

Nope, there's no way to do that.
I find the 7D LCD quite okay, but of course not as fantastic as the Canon's. Seriously, its just a LCD screen for you to preview, its not that crucial. KM's LCD may sux but the photos in JPEG is super. Canon's LCD may be the best but photos in JPEG sux. If you use Canon DSLR, you have to post-process |

I am already quite happy with my 5D LCD screen which is a lot lower resolution than the 7D.
Maybe I don't rely much on the LCD screen except to check the histogram and that's why I can't understand why people would be unhappy about theirs. However, I think that there is a product that can be attached to the LCD and magnify the picture. It was featured in dpreview but I can't remember it's name offhand. I'll try to dig it out when I get home. |

Yupe just rely on the histogram will do... The only time I really scrutinise the LCD is trying to guesstimate if the focus is ok for a handheld slow shutter speed shot.... I haven't seen the Canon LCD screen, is that good? Or is the picture sharpened for preview to make it look nicer? And that's why Canon users shoot in RAW since there is no way of telling if the shot in JPG is ok or not?

Aiyoh! How can compare pro screen to semi-pro screen? The 5D and 1D costs a few times more than either the 7D and 20D for very good reasons other than the sensor size mah.... anyway I was thinking that the 20D's screen was really that much superior to the 20D... ![]() |

Ah yes.... for a moment, I thought our beloved 7D was left in the dust where the LCD screen was concerned... |

I thought 7D LCD is pretty good to judge sharpness.. Usually if the sharpness is excellent when zoom all in, it would look great on PC. It also okay to judge exposure too with default LCD brightness.
The only complaint is, it is almost useless in daylight condition in the open.. |
