    Hi guys!

    I'm a newbies that love photography..

    Anyone can be kind enough to tell me what 12-24mm for (Scenary? Portrait? Landscape?)

    Does the number means anything? the greater the better? the wider the better?

    How about 18-70 or 18-200???

    enlighten me pls..

    Hi, I am new to photography too.

    Anyway, 12-24mm is more for Landscape as it is a wide angle lens. Picture Angle with Nikon DX format is from 99 degree to 61 degree.

    The number means the focal length. The smaller the number, the more wide angle. The higher the number, the more telescopic.

    It really depends on what you want to take, whether is it portrait, landscape, macro, close-up, etc...
