Default KMOS - 1st December, 2005

Hi guys,

We'll resume our monthly gathering again from December. We missed the gathering this month as it was a public holiday, and as well as there were photo-shooting opportunities. Thanks to GENO for organising.

I have not decided what's going to happen on this day and where to hold yet because I won't be free. I'm looking for volunteer(s) to help out this time. Please PM me.

First of all, I would like to clear some questions being raised up from the past gatherings about chit-chatting, tech talk and not having some short photo-shooting on the day of gathering. The aim of these monthly gatherings are bond you KM users together, know one another and make friends and share your ideas, techniques, etc.

This thread is open to all discussions/suggestions that you wish something to happen on that day. Feel free to post here if you want to go and shoot sunset, night scenery of the city, so that everyone especially those who reads and don't post but attend the gathering can expect what is going to happen.

Some of you may feel that its boring, the organiser sucks, and so on, but I am not you so I won't know what you're thinking. If you have good suggestions, pop me a PM or post in the gathering threads so everyone can discuss and improve on it. I apologize for being a boring guy but I also hope I'm not so boring, so I need contributions.

I would like to thank all of you who has been supportive for the past 1 year. Thank you.

Date : 1st December, 2005 (Thursday)
Time : from 7pm onwards
Venue : Lazatte Fusion Cafe

How To Get There?

For those who drives, you can park your vehicle in the multi-levels carpark between block 2 & 3.
For those who travel by public transport, the 2 red squares are the represented bus stops with their available public bus services stated in the map.

Regards,
Don.

Hi,
Just a suggestion.. it'll be great is we have a dedicated website for all KM users to post their photo shots after each outing ..
something like this.. http://canongraphers.tripod.com/id6.html
with information on lens used..

This forum is great for info sharing.. but I hope that there is more photos sharing among KM users as well..

just a suggestion... need to show more photos..

From my past experiences, a dedicated forum for KM might not generate enough visits as the KM user base is rather limited... hence, the visitors will eventually move on to other more popular forums. I've seen many similiar forums (with many brands) and they are short of visitors also...

I can supply the photo frame....and help you guys print to A3 size free!!!!....

If you guys interested, then we can make that place sort of official place to have KMOS......
We can even conduct meetings there, post photos, if you want, we can work out a rental services among us....can even have mini exhibition for KMOS quarterly.... main thing is its FREE!!!!!! no need to pay for premise....

Even had the first few meet-up (before KMOS name established)there and i actually brought 19x13 printer but nobody want to print......free oso dont want...

Haha.....my wife cafe is actually a showcase of my own work.....right from the the menu photography and the photos on the wall....
Using this as my learning ground...and also a website i creatwd with all photos taken with the 7D here http://www.lazattefusion.com

So can i classify it as a photography-themed restaurant/cafe

rgds,
sulhan

Come on.....

CS IS already ont of the best portal for KM users here....
why the need to waste global webspace by opening another one.

The success of CS also depend on all brand users......KM being one of the ones
lately blooming and getting more active....

SO lets keep it this way.....in CS....and have more activities like outing or knowledge sharing sessions...

or juz plain equipment drool session....

Default Personally

Hiee...

Personally...its in CS that i learn lots of tips and techniques from fellow photographers...
Though you might meet some equipment preachers but they do produce great results that are ofthen then not inspiring...
Some are plain simple in their setup but produces out-of-this world results......

Many have became great KM gurus...like Drudkh(sports), UY(lighing/exposures), Reno(all round).....juz to name a few...
and you can trace back from the days when they juz joined CS.....and now their works are really of high standard...

Most importantly....KM users section have very helpful and warm ppl.....willing to help and not flame.....

So lets to our part in keeping this KM section of CS alive so as to keep the KM users together.
Having another site will obviuosly steal some traffic out of CS which might not be good for sponsorships...

My wish is to have our own KM users create thir own works for peer references - photos, how they took it., composition , setup etc....
then you will see the KM users becoming stronger in their photography skills...most of the time we tend to reference foreign sites....but
not among us locals...

So Enjoy!!!!

rgds,
sulhan
