I've used this cam for the past three months, currently just upgraded to CP5700.

U can check out my Photo Gallery to see shots that I've taken using this cam. A good cam I must say

thks for the comment.

I've been using the CSM mode all the while. Personally find that the CSM mode produces better picture as compared to the auto or preset mode. I usually use full manual for the exposure, so that I can play ard with different settings to create my intended shots.

Wat kind of advise are u looking for?? using the CSM mode??

if u dun mind, u can pm me your contact. It would be easier to make arrangement to meet & explain how to make full use of the cam. U can achieve aperture & shutter priority (even tho' the cam doesn't come with it) with proper usage. I've met up a few ppl that wanted to learn more abt 885 after they got to know that I'm using one too.

Hi syc77, I guess the program is that u have taken the shots using program mode and the type of metering. I presumed the sky was much brighter then rite?? Do u have program previewing your shots under that kind of condition?? If yes, i think u r going thru the same problem as me when I first got the cam. If u want to use program mode for these shots, u might have to give EV compensation for it. I must say the Merlion shot is not very easy. I did ask a question at hwz abt having a nice exposure on the Merlion landscape without getting the merlion body overexposed. It's kinda tough.

Your night shots are pretty good. One trick when taking nite shots with 885 or other DCs is to keep your hand on the cam, even after u have release the shutter. Cos the movement of your hand from the shutter after it has been released will create unnecessary motion and thus causing the shot to be blurred.

oic, i thought u took these shots (DSCN0051~DSCN0068) during the afternoon. Was thinking that it was so dark cos the cam meter the wrong exposure for the shot. Actually Auto is somewhat similar to Program mode (CSM) where the cam will select the correct shutter speed and aperture for u. Program mode in CSM allows u to adjust your White Balancing, Focus and EV compensation.

As for the Merlion shots, I personally think the DSCN0098 is nicely exposure, as compared to the rest (DSCN0085~DSCN0104). Altho' the top of the Merlion is kinda dark, but comparing the lighting on the body with DSCN0104, u can see that the detail on DSCN0104 is totally washed out.

LOL
when u said about program mode,i though u were talking about the scene mode.me bad.

as for DSCN0098,the prob lies with the way the lighting was shining on the merlion.all the lighting that's shining on it r about waist height of the merlion.that's y the head is is quite dark.

me going to the car show now.
later dude

tat's the reason why taking the Merlion Shot is not easy (from my personal point of view)
