    Dear Members of CS,

I beleive we as members of this community, must react strongly and swiftly to the comments made by Zenten. See attached link to thread, post 21.

What should we as individuals and members of this community do?

what's the point of starting another thread here? such behaviour is nothing new in CS. mods and admin will know when to step in if things get out of hand. and darren has already stepped in to close the thread.

It's not the first time he makes such uncalled for remarks or flame baits... my advice... use the ignore function.

There are jokes and there are mean spirited comments meant to hurt. zenten's comment was meant to hurt. A public apology from zenten, then I will lighten up!

hmm, think he carried it into the wrong section... nowadays, i also joke only in this part of the forum, so that newbies or laojiao dun think i am being sarcastic...

anyway, lets hope he reads this thread... or give him benefit of doubt?

been reading what happened....and for sure i am not siding anyone. and it's only an opinion, so mai pa wa..

I think he should not have used the "words" which i find blunt also.

But then again looking at the title and prelude pics of doville is suggestive to me, some will call it art, some will call it something else...tt's life in CS.

let us look at it from another angle. i think those pics r artistic but should not b attached 2 d thread at all. there may b parents who r worried abt unsuitable images 4 young kids on d web, i hope CS wont kenna complain by worried parents. i m sure there r many CSers who r parents too!

mayb they can contribute their opinions.

I agree zenten's comments are rude, with most of the offence directed to the model. Regardless of your opinions on porn vs nude, the disrespect implied through the sentence towards her profession was uncalled for. Your opinion of the shoot may be unchanged but at least respect the model for what she is willing to do.

Furthermore, instead of calling for further (unnecessary) censorship, why don't we set up a discussion on what is soft-porn and what is nude photography? I think all of us could use a little open education/debate/exchange on which is which. That's the problem isn't it, that we can't differentiate the two. And even if we can, there is always that fear of stepping into the asian taboo of nudity.

In my opinion, asking for nudes to be mosaic-ed is akin to treating them as porn. One does not mosiac art. It is bad enough that CS cannot support the posting of nude photography, but it is worse to have fellow photographers misunderstand its nature. Perhaps it is precisely that there are no open discussions of nude photography in here that makes a portion of us twitchy.

Don't solve for the effects, look for the cause.

All I see are some very petty and childish reaction over someone's obviously silly remarks.

"if you are man", "owe an apology", "wimp", "what good are you", calling others "misguided soul".

I think there is a little over-reaction here... It's a public forum and everyone is entitled to his or her opinion.

Zenten has expressed his opinion, that's all to it. And Deadpoet has already pen down his displeasure of the opinion made. That would be sufficient isn't it? Why go so deep into it? Especially when we all sensible adults know that whatever happened in cyberspace has to be taken with a pinch of salt. Unless we have met each other in person, otherwise no point getting upset over remarks made in the cyber world (unless you have a different agenda), for all you may know, the person might just be sitting opposite you in the office. I remember some time ago, there was a thread about 3 guys and a bird photographer and the bird photographer mentioning CS is for kids, well, the subsequent action of posting that story and now this incident, unfortunately, confirms that perception. And the truth is, sometimes Perception = Reality.

Your question - How should CS as a community react to such uncalled for and offensive comments? Haizzz.... 得绕人处且绕人

Oh, by the way, the above are my opinions only. If it offended deadpoet or anybody, I hope there won't be another thread asking me to apologise in public.

Life is short, live and let live!!
Pictures always should have a special story behind it or a special meaning to the photographer.

I may feel as Zenten does but I would not articulate it as strongly as he does.

    It's a free world.

And I am envious of those who could afford to go to shoot them killers.

    crucify him! crucify him!

Seriously, the best way to deal with him is to ignore him. Sooner or later he will refrain from such blunt remarks. Its only a matter of time....

recently, i have seen phrases or something to the effect, " if you are man enough, let's meet face to face", what does it actually mean? does it mean bashing up time? or apology time? or is it tiger time-12 bottles?

it reminds me of the behavour of gangsters in the 60s and 70s. kinda of discomforting.

    Please ...

maybe you should also apologise. want to meet zenten in outside and tell him say it to you in front of you face. who the hell are you

maybe if zenten meets you, i'll come a long with a few of my friends and give you a piece of my mind
