Default First Blood - Dynax 5D

Here's a sample shot frm my 5D. Before & after correction.

Bear in mind that this photo is taken with the 18-70mm kit lens.

Wad can I say? Love the bokeh. The colours I'm not cursing abt it. But its as close as it can get. BTW, the shutter speed doesn't seem to be recorded inside the EXIF. How do u guys get the speed to be recorded in the EXIF under Aperture Priority mode? And no, I'm not using [P]rofessional or Green Box mode.

The Original

EXIF: f/5.6, ISO400 (auto), 60mm. Aperture Priority

The Post-Processed

EXIF: f/5.6, ISO400 (auto), 60mm. Aperture Priority.
Correction done in CS2: Auto Level, Contrast +5, USM (Ah well, this is what I always do. Unless u guys dun do that as well)

My eyeballs dropped when I saw the photos at ISO800.

Default 2 Special ISO Modes

Low80 @ 100% Crop

High200 @ 100% Crop

For a kit lens (which ppl diss and piss on it) I must say that the colours are reasonably good without post-processing. After PP, everything just comes out.

2nd digital body, prolly my last (unless I strike Toto).
My ol' 300D was good, no doubt. It'd seen me grow and been thru ups & downs for the past 1yr. But there's a time when u have to let go & move on forward.

Yep. I guess that's it. I have more to learn on my new baby. Back to the instruction manual!

Hahaha... Ok lah. It all depends on ya.

My primary motivating factor to shift to KM is budget. I can get reasonably good lens at a lower price (like the 70-210 f4? But its discontinued. That sux big time). And spend my other time shooting more.

Wow.. the colors is good but I think a push of 1+ or +2 will greatly enhanced the pic quality. Remember D5D/D7D picture is generally soft for further processing. So Shoot more!!

All DLSRs are made to underexpose I think cos they handle highlights so badly... u can always pull out the details when u post process... often find that a simple autolevels will do...

well, ISO 1600 and ISO 3200 is only usable if you remove the "digital noise". Someone point out about photoshop steps which can be used to remove the "coloured specks".

All I can say is after removing the digital coloured specks (noise), the image is usable... I can't see any much different from film ISO1600... but the pattern of the grain just different in some sense...

Here is the example before and after the coloured specks being removed...

Regards,

Hart

My prettiest 'model' to-date.

Ok, she was the only one I have. Her sister is prettier. But its a pity the manufacturers made her sister sitting down instead of standing.

Hmm... The results after the coloured specks are removed looks good.

I wonder if the coloured specks will show up if we're shooting B&W at high ISO?
