Default Minolta Type A bayonet mount on D70s body

Hi i was just wondering. does the Type A bayonet mount Fit on to the nikon d70s body? Or must the nikon body need an adapter with this type of mount? if it does will the auto focus work? I'm asking this with a referance to a sigma lens i have which fits on type A bayonet mount cameras. So just wanted to check if its possible? Thanks

Cheers
Chris

It will not fit directly onto a D70S body as it's a F-mount body only.

I'm not sure if there are adaptors to affix on minolta glasses and if the AF will still work.

Need a pro here to answer this question. Nikon DSLRs are all using F-mount.
