Default 5700 is a battary eater?

Hi

I hear from my friend that Nikon 5700 use up a lot of battary. Therefore a fully charge Lithon Battary can only able to take ~70 shots? Is it true?

Please help me for those who using 5700 DC?

depends largely on your usage pattern. if a lot of time is playing back pics on the LCD or you spend a lot of time focussing/meddling with the menus, the camera won't last very long.

Some people go for the vertical battery grip which allows AA batteries to be used. It's very worth it in my opinion.

Heard that 5700 new shipment was delayed. Take a walk at city area, you simply can't find this camera anywhere. Will that be the reason why Nikon was holding it?

What is the cost for vertical battary grip for AA battary??? And for 1800maH AA battary approx how many photo I can take if I do not spend a lot of time in playing back? Same thing, for a Nikon Lithon battary, if I do not playback, just take photo, how many photo i can take before battary flat???

well..
a fully charged batt can also last for 1 shot only!!
that's the worst case!

of coz, that when you do it in worst situation,
LCD on, continuos focusing.. zoom in / out / in / out..
press halfway the shutter... bla bla bla.. but nv shoot anything untill finally when low batt signal come out, you shoot 1 pic..
and that's all..

only 1 pic

I don't have the camera so can't tell you how long it lasts with the Li batery. The battery grip costs ~$160-185.

All DCs are battery eaters in my opinion...depends on how u use them and under what temperature u operate the DC...

I have 2 Li-ion and each of them only last 50-60 shots (with zoom using EVF) but no playback and flash...understand the battery pack claims to last couple of hundred shots but again it depends if u zoom...flash and use the LCD monitor...

Based on some comments from CP5700 users at dpreview, the MB-E5700 can last for 400 shots with intensive use on LCD & 1Gb MD.

I'm currently busy, thus unable to test out it's full potential. But trust me, this piece of accessory is definitely worth it

On the other hand, Sony Infolithium battery (Sony properity) can last almost 4 hours on the F717.
