Anyone tried the lens? How does it compare to the Tamron Super 2?

Default IMO....

I don't think the promo's worth it....
The total price is $1488, and it will be cheaper when you go to shops like CP ? AP.
Assume that it's $1300..

I think if I'm not wrong, Nikon's offering of their 28-200 is lousier than other 3rd party makers like Tamron's XR version.
There were no revisions made to the lens since it was introduced a very long time ago..

guys, correct me if I'm wrong.

A F80 body costs like $680, a Tamron 28 - 200 XR costs $470...
So it's ard $1000+?
But if you are counting the free gifts in, it's ok la.
But I certainly don't need the vest and tripod though....

Yeah, i agree. And $680 is for the date body. The non-date one is about $640. The lens(Tamron) about $460-$480. Add $250 for a SB-24 speedlite(used) and maybe $100 for a tripod. And the whole thing will cost about $1470.

Just my 2 cents. YMMV.....

That's just the RRP. If you go to CP, you'd still get the bundle at a lower price.

Just like when i got my F65 bundle this march. the rrp was $788, but i bought it for $670+ (inclusive of GST) at CP. Just get an e-quote from CP and check it out.

True, the actual price by CP / AP will definitely be cheaper....

But one thing, IMO, they are trying to sell out those "not-so-popular products" by bundling them together.....

A bad eye in photography is still a bad eye in photography no matter how good or sharp one's lenses are.

Can....
But with $1320, I think I'll get the Tamron + F80 combo....
I think it's more worth it (excluding the freebies of course)
