I got a question to ask. How far can a cam focus before it sets itself to focus at infinity? i rem when I was using the manual focus in c2100uz, the scale ends at 5m then it go straight to infinity. If that is the case, focusing a bird in the sky is like setting it to infinity isit? Sorry if this sounds silly.

Basically yes. The rest will be covered by the inherently high DoF of consumer digicams. Especially at the wide angle end. I frequently use such distance focussing on my Coolpix 950 when I want to avoid AF lag.

So am I correct to say that if I want to shot a bird flying in the sky, I can use manual focus and set to infinity instead of trying to focus it using AF? How different is it compared to slr/dslr?
