sharp images, but does it justify a 200mm f/2 lens?

guess wat he meant was even if using other lenses would also be able to capture similar shots..

it doesn't matter. why would the first post from a member on the forum, declare that he/she's using this new lens then? i don't see anything evidently special about the images, since others have fairly decent shots from the typical 70-200 range.

I don't think the guy was bragging abt the lens, which seems to be what you are implying..he was just stating the specs, camera type, lens, iso. whats wrong with doing that for you to harp on?

i don't know, you might want to try to enlighten me instead. i only pointed out that this person posted these photos for his first post, and included the lens info. apart from clarity, i don't see anything special about the shots, which others can do with a lens 1 stop slower. was i harping on anything?

brother,

if i'm not wrong, renny have been using this lens for half a year or so. hence it's not a 'new lens'.

and this is his only lens for this range and also his adorable babe for shooting all kinds of photos.

so i see nothing wrong with him listing out the specs with the lens included.

Default Some sour smells here......

The hardware-oriented nature of these forums mean that the question will inevitably pop up sooner rather than later, and I do not see any wrong in listing the equipment used to pre-empt the questions.

It is his first post here. Go easy on him. We all were newbies (not to photography, but to individual forum etiquette) once.

Who are you to question the justification of the shooter having a 200 f/2VR? The shooter himself will know best, isn't it?

The len isn't new, it's been out for a year+ already, 20 over people from my previous Nikon portraiture outing have touched, orgased and covetted it already. The shooter is just listing out the equipment he used to capture the images, something very common on DPReview if you noticed, but when somebody does that in CS, some sour-ed people just appear.

Thread starter also didn't mean to say "Hey, I'm using 200 f/2VR, expensive glass, thus my images are good", he was just sharing the setup used. Probably hoping for more constructive comments on how he can put the glass to better use.

Grow up SS.

i asked about justification in the context of images. the images appear not much different from other less costlier lens anyway.

your turn; you don't shoot sports anyway. *shrugs*
