LOL no lah... it's a spot metering mode where u can average a few spots and then the cam will average a final exposure...

When u use spot metering, will it cause yr pic to appear sharp at the spot where you focus at, leaving the rest of the pic a little blurry?

i always tough metering is used to judge the brightness

so i thought spot metering is used so that it can judge the shutter speed and aperture required.... that's wat i though didn't know it also touches on focus....

but after thinking about wat you said if it is true spot metering can be used on small targets like flowers so that the rest of the picture will be ignored

what focus????????????????????????????????????????????? ?????
no relationship lah.... the blurring is due to strong backlight huh?

alamak... multimetering not very manual what... it's useful for panorama and you dun have the OLYMPUS brand SM...

but I also never use lah... just realised it's useful but no one ever talks about it LOL..

I'm using the UZI. So best is to use evaluative metering? Or iESP or spot? Me not that sure which will give the best exposure? Can anybody advise?

Me was using iESP previously. Until I switch over to spot. Find that the pics a little soft. Maybe due to sunlight as you said. Will switch over to iESP. Thanks for yr advice
