Default My sister's wedding

Hi, I'm a complete newbie at wedding photography. Have no interest in that field but hey, it's my own sister.

Here are some shots I thought I might share. Thanks for viewing!

Your shots are pretty well taken, just that the flash is a bit too harsh on your subject. Also, they're pretty soft too. I like the first pic when your sis unveils her veil. The expression and mood is well captured.

I guess you're positioning yourself so as not to obstruct the main photographer, and that's why the exit signs, and I think that's recommendable.

Thanks for sharing.

Thanks guys/gals!

Yep, the EXIT sign was also the first thing I noticed. And it was worse since it was repeated 3 times. But Virgo is right, I was giving way to the main photographer. I was in the next row of tables from him so the angle wasn't ideal. It may be my sister's wedding but the main photographer has to do his job. I also timed my shots to be immediately after his so that my flashes do not interfere with his. This is what I've gathered to be the right thing to do from reading some of the experiences of CS'ers here.

Thanks again for your comments. I only have one sister so there will be no more wedding shots for me. I think I'm rather happy with this little venture into wedding photography. I'll stick to my planes and landscapes.

Purple cast observed. Not too bad for a starter. Shoot more.

Personally I think you should be easier to get better emotional shoots than the main photographer as you know all the relative and friends right? Anyway, good try for a beginner ^_^.

I too still need to learn a lot from experience and CSers

Good try for a newbie.

Maybe u r too engrossed with the actions within yr viewfinder and left out the rest. It is the little details that stand out like a torn in the flesh-eg Exit Light. But it takes some experience to realise that.

Regarding yr flash, next time try to use bounce flash or omni bounce to take yr subjects. this will reduce the harsh lighting on their face.

Just my 2 cent thoughts

I agreed strongly with chunger. The expressions are very natural. I will not worry about the exit signs and small things like that. Just ps it all away - behind is just a simple single colour concrete beam, no need to open two eyes in ps work lah. I will focus on the expressions as what you have done.

Love the first photo, would be nice if you had a cleaner background, maybe you can try cropping the top.
