Hi All,
This is my first post. Appreciate some Enlightenment. (1) Tamron AF 19-35 mm vs Tokina AF 19-35mm Do anyone knows optically, which is the better of the 2? (2) Do all purchases in the U.S. need to be taxed 8%? Will it be cheaper if mail-order to a U.S. Address? Thanx. |

hi,
My brother is going to California. I wanted to do a mail order to my cousin residing there and get my brother to collect it. I am afraid of complications hence I have decided to buy from a local store there instead of mail-order. Do anybody know where in California is a good place to get lenses? By the way purchases from online sellers are they taxable? To those interested (abstracts from photography sites): Tokina 19-35mm f/3.5-4.5 ================== This lens replaces the AF235 II in Tokina's quality middle line of AF series lenses. Constructed with high refraction, low dispersion glass, its multicoated lens elements are produced by Hoya Corporation-the world's largest manufacturer of optical glass. While the same mechanically as the AF235 II, the AF193's barrel is made from polycarbonate to reduce the overall weight of the lens. Tamron 19-35mm f/3.5-4.5 =================== The AF19-35mm provides stable and high image quality throughout the zoom range through the employment of Tamron's BBAR (Broad Band Anti-Reflection) multiple-layer coating. This multi-coating ensures high light transmission and excellent colour fidelity that results in crisp, saturated images. Distortion is minimised, even at the super wide-angle end, and contrast performance is optimised over the entire focal length range. A flower shaped dedicated lens hood is included, which ensures optimum shading at both super wide-angle and standard 35mm wide-angle. I have not seen actual photographs but my instincts points to Tokina's Low Dispersion Lens. Unless someone has another opinion. The Tokina by the way cost more than the Tamron, its hood alone comes close to $50, whereas the Tamron hood comes with the lens. |

i have a film SLR, not digital SLR. and also SEED is badly timed for me. I have to rush down from NTU at 1700 in time for SEED at 1830 plus to buy a few stuff? Now that's a bit too tight.
