Dear all.
Is it possible to shoot and download direct onto the computer (tethered shooting) with the 300D. Does the canon software supports this? Thanks. ![]() |

So far, I only used PSCS and Capture One LE. I have never explored any of the bundled software that comes with my 300D.
Does the "EOS Capture" software you mentioned comes in the box or do I need to get it somewhere else. (really, never used any of Canon's original software yet know nothing about it )Thanks. ![]() |

Hi all.
Apart from the Canon Remote Capture found on the solution disk, are there any other softwares from Canon website which I can download to perform tethered shooting? There is this download known as DPP 203EN.exe, what is it for? Raw conversion? Can I perform tethered shooting with DPP too? Sorry, I am really a "Canon Software Mountain Tortise" Thanks. ![]() |

Hi all,
Can use Firewire instead of USB Cable? I asked around and shop ppl says no 5pin Firewire to 6pin is being sold here. Do you think there is such a 5pin to 6pin Firewire being sold? If got, where? Regards

Hi all.
Tested tethered shooting yesterday with my 300D. Pros: Clear, large preview on a calibrated monitor. Great of checking composition, sharpness etc. Cons: For a single shot only: 1. took around 55 secs to transfer onto PC using USB 2. 2. took another few seconds to decode raw files for full screen viewing. 3. although I set my 300D to "sleep" after 1 min, tethered shooting seems to keep the camera on all the way. As a result: (a) battery goes flat quite fast; (b) this is the first time I felt a warm temperture on my camera back, probably due to the prolong "switched on" state. We know that a heated sensor is likely to cause noise problems, therefore I realize this could be a disadvantage most of us may have overlooked. (unlike Phase One Camera Backs that uses sleeping architecture, meaning the CCD goes to sleep when you are not shooting, therefore the Phase One CCD sensors tend to be cooler and produce less noise) 4. If you bracket your shots, wow, it's going to take a long time to get your work done I may stick with CF card again Or maybe have to upgrade to C1 Pro, if tethered shooting with Canon DSLR is stable.Correct me if my opinion doesn't make sense. All kind advises and feedbacks are most welcome! DigiLearner |
